Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may collect certain personally identifiable information that You input directly into the Application. This information is stored locally on Your device and is not transmitted to Our servers.

  • In-App Data: This includes item names, brands, quantities, expiration dates, purchase dates, prices, descriptions, tags, barcodes, custom categories, and locations that You manually enter or select within the Application.

Camera Access

The Application requests access to Your device's camera for the purpose of scanning barcodes. The camera feed is used in real-time to detect barcodes, but no images or video from Your camera are stored or uploaded by the Application.

Microphone Access

The Application requests access to Your device's microphone for the purpose of voice input. Your speech is converted into text using Apple's native speech recognition technology (SFSpeechRecognizer). Your raw voice data is not recorded, stored, or uploaded by the Application. The converted text is used solely for parsing voice commands within the Application.

Location Information

The Application does not collect or track Your device's geographical location. Any "location" data within the Application refers to user-defined physical locations (e.g., "Kitchen," "Bedroom") for organizing Your inventory items, which You input directly.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company uses Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service, including enabling You to track and manage Your home inventory locally on Your device.

  • For other purposes: We may use Your information for other purposes, such as internal data analysis on Your local device to improve Your experience within the Application.

Sharing Your Personal Data

Your personal data, which is stored locally on Your device, is generally not shared with third parties by the Application itself. However, please note the following:

  • Barcode Service: When You use the barcode scanning feature, the Application sends the scanned barcode number to the Open Food Facts API to fetch product information (e.g., product name, brand, category). This is necessary to provide the functionality of automatically populating item details. Please refer to Open Food Facts' privacy policy for details on their data handling practices.

Retention of Your Personal Data

All Your Personal Data is stored locally on Your device. We do not retain Your Personal Data on Our servers as We do not collect it. You control the retention of Your data by managing the Application on Your device. Deleting the Application from Your device will typically remove all associated local data.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed and stored solely on Your device. No Personal Data is transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of Your device.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Given that Your Personal Data is stored locally and not collected by Us, there are no circumstances under which the Company would disclose Your Personal Data in relation to business transactions, law enforcement, or other legal requirements, as We do not possess such data.

Security of Your Personal Data

The security of Your Personal Data is paramount. As all Your Personal Data is stored locally on Your device, its security is primarily governed by the security features of Your device and operating system. While We strive to develop a secure Application, We cannot guarantee the absolute security of Your device or the data on it against all possible threats.

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us (e.g., the Open Food Facts website). If You click on a third party link, You will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
